It was time to practice how to remove the orange peel effect from my car...
i am waiting for an order that contains 2500 and 3000 grit sand papers,6'' PFW and Meg's wool pad & diamond cut.So i used what i had at home and what i found in local market.
Meg's 1000 grit sand paper for wet sanding
3,5 '' PFW & Menzerna Power gloss compound on rotary
Menzerna RD 3.02 on orange LC 6''pad with rotary
Menzerna F106 FA on green LC 6''pad with rotary
Menzerna 85RD on black LC 5,5'' pad with UDM
i did only the hood and the right front fender.
So here are the pictures

The hood full wet sanded with Meg's 1000 grit sand paper

50/50 photos after the compounding/polishing steps

some pictures after the entire hood finished

and some pictures to compare the finished parts with the orange peel level of the rest parts

Then i took the car out the sun to check what i have done..i was disappointed and i have some questions...Those sanding marks need a wet sanding with less aggressive sand paper or they need more compounding with a bigger wool pad that i used??

Thanks for looking and all the advises are welcome....

Either way. But i'd wait for the papers to arrive. Then sand the hood
down again. You'll get it flatter and it will be much easier removing
2500/3000 grit marks.

The PFW pad isn't very aggressive but should be good enough
to remove 2500/3000. If you want a heavy cut, try 100% twisted
wool pad with the PG (much faster than the PFW).
A man can do all things if he but wills them.

Finally i finished the wet sanding/polishing on my Civic..It took me about a week because i was doing part by part...Sorry for the large amount of picturs but it is my first time on this + rotary polishing....
I used the follow sand papers:
1000 grit Megs
2000 grit 3M
2500 GRIT Megs
3000 grit Megs
Sanding mark removal with Megs #85 + Megs twisted wool pad
Correction
Menzerna SIP+RD3.02 on LC CCS 6,5 orange foam pad
Menzerna RD3.02 + 106FF on LC CCS green foam pad
Menzerna 85RD 0n LC CCS 6,5'' black foam pad
DWG on the top
No LSP because the car has been resprayed 3 weeks ago...

Looks good.
Just remember to disconnect the water hose from the side of the car before driving. It could be dangerous.
There is no one right way to paint a car, but there are a whole lot of wrong ways

Looks fantastic.. Was this a total repaint, or was it just wet sanded and buffed factory paint.. I did not see it mentioned in the first post..
